About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to help design, build, and evolve the backend services that power our platform.
This role is for someone who enjoys solving complex engineering problems, building reliable systems, and taking ownership from design through production. You’ll work closely with product and engineering teams to deliver scalable backend services while helping shape technical decisions and mentoring other developers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs
- Own features end-to-end—from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support
- Design scalable and maintainable system architectures
- Write clean, well-tested, production-quality Go code
- Improve system reliability, scalability, and performance
- Debug complex production issues across backend services and databases
- Participate in architectural discussions and influence technical direction
- Review code, share knowledge, and mentor junior engineers
- Collaborate with frontend, product, and QA teams to deliver high-quality features
- Drive engineering best practices across the team
Requirements:
- Significant production experience building backend applications
- Strong production experience with Go (or equivalent backend language with the ability to become productive in Go quickly)
- Deep understanding of backend architecture and distributed systems fundamentals
- Strong experience designing and building REST APIs
- Production experience with document databases such as MongoDB
- Solid understanding of software architecture, clean code, and design principles
- Experience writing automated tests (unit and integration)
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting production systems
- Experience working with containerized applications and Kubernetes
- Ability to independently drive projects from design through production
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Comfortable making technical decisions and balancing engineering trade-offs
